Arkansas Highway Police seized more than 232 pounds of cannabis on Sunday April 22, when a truck driver failed to stop at a weigh station, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.
The police attempted to pull over the truck at a weigh station on Interstate 40 to conduct a routine inspection. The truck failed to pull over causing a pursuit to take place.
When the police pulled the truck over the driver seemed very nervous, according to police. Once they obtained written notice from the driver to search the truck, they found 201 bundles of cannabis weighing in at 232 pounds.
Police say they truck was being driven from California to Tampa, Florida.
Both the truck driver and the co-driver were arrested, and are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
